English 10 G./H.: The students finished reading “Coyote and the Buffalo” and finished and reviewed their after reading questions. They also were given their first significant writing assignment. We will begin working on their creation myth tomorrow.

Publications: The students continued working on their fall yearbook pages.

English 10 G./H.: The students took their grammar chapter 1 test. Afterwards, we began reading our second Native American folk talk “Coyote and the Buffalo.” We will finish and review the after reading questions tomorrow.

Publications: The students began working on their fall sports pages by placing team photos and roster captions on pages.

English 10 G./H.: The students completed and reviewed their grammar chapter 1 test review.

Publications: The students completed their three interviews with students from different sports, clubs, or other activities. Afterwards, the students completed their In Design fonts page. We will choose the base font for the yearbook this week.

September 25, 2015

English 10 G./H.: The students began working on their grammar Ch.1 review, which consisted of the 1.1/1.2 worksheet, the 1.3/1.4 worksheet, and the mixed review in their grammar work. We will finish our review next week.

Publications: The students were given the hour to complete their two sample In Design pages and five gradients.

English 10 G./H.: The students completed their grammar work covering types of sentences (1.3) and complements (1.4.)

Publications: The students began working on their second sample In Design page with the new caption format.

English 10 G./H.: The students finished and reviewed their grammar work we began yesterday. Afterwards, we began our pre-reading and group activity covering themes of our second Native American folk tale “Coyote and the Buffalo.”

Publications: The students finished their sample InDesign sports page and began working on five gradients for the yearbook.

English 10 G./H.: The students took their grammar review quiz. Afterwards, we began our grammar work covering subjects and predicates (1.1) and compound sentence parts (1.2.)

Publications: The students began their InDesign (yearbook software) sample sports page.

English 10 G./H.: The students finished and reviewed their “The World on the Turtle’s Back” after reading questions.

Publications: The students began working on their first In Design practice page and also practiced taking different styles of pictures with the cameras.

English 10 G./H.: The students finished reading “The World on the Turtle’s Back” and began their after reading questions. We will finish and review the after reading questions Monday.
