English 10: The students finished and reviewed their vocabulary work for The Crucible. We began reading the about Arthur Miller, and discussing how hysteria and McCarthyism play a part in the drama. The students were also assigned homework to define McCarthyism and hysteria, and write one paragraph explaining the effects of mass hysteria and its dangers.
Publications: The students discussed the yearbook templates, colors, and backgrounds. We will vote for each category tomorrow.
English 10: The students finished and reviewed their grammar work, and began working on their The Crucible vocabulary worksheet. We will finish the worksheet and review tomorrow.
Publications: We updated the yearbook ladder and reviewed how to upload and share pictures and files to Google Drive.
English 10: The students took their “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” vocabulary quiz, and continued working on their grammar covering compound sentence parts (1.2.) Students need to complete the grammar worksheet for homework.
Publications: The students used the hour to have their journalism articles edited by two other students, and make the needed revisions. All final copies are due Monday.

English 10: The students took their grammar parts of speech (review chapter) quiz, and began working on their grammar work covering subjects and predicates (1.1.)
Publications: The students were given their first THS journalism assignment. We will be working on their articles the next two days in class, and it is due (printed) this Friday.
English 10: The students took their Native American Folk Literature test, and finished their “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” after reading questions. We will review their answers tomorrow, as well as take their grammar review quiz.

English 10: The students began reading Jonathan Edwards sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,” and will finish tomorrow. Students need to review their notes and answers for their test tomorrow covering “The World on the Turtle’s Back” and “Coyote and the Buffalo.”
Publications: We completed the list of business vendors in Adrian that we will sell yearbook advertisements to tomorrow. The students were given their first journalism assignment, which is due Friday. The students will have Wednesday and Thursday to work on their reports in class.
English 10: The students finished and reviewed their grammar work covering prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections (review lessons 5 and 6.) Students that did not finish the worksheet need to do so for homework. The students were also given their “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” vocabulary worksheet that they need to complete for homework.
Publications: Mrs. Obeid was nice enough to give the students a brief instruction on picture composition, and what they should be looking for when taking photographs for the yearbook. The students were given a handout with several different types of pictures, which they used to take their own pictures around the school. Students that did not finish in class need to do so for homework.
English 10: The students began working on their grammar review (part 5 & 6,) which we will finish tomorrow.
