Tuesday:  Students will be completing their assessment review for hours 2 and 4, and will be taking their assessment in hours 3 and 5.

Wednesday:   Students will be completing their assessment review for hours 1 and 6, and will be taking their assessment in hours 2 and 4.

Thursday:   Students will be taking their assessment in hours 1 and 6.

January 16, 2014

English 11:  The students completed their grammar work covering Progressive and Emphatic Verbs (4.3,) Active and Passive Voice (4.4,) and The Moods of Verbs (4.5.)  Students that did not finish their grammar worksheet need to do so for homework.

English 10:  The students read chapters 32 and 33 of Huck Finn, and completed their chapter notes.  The students were given their Character Head assignment to complete for homework.  Students need 10 examples of Huck’s internal conflicts and five external conflicts, which can be drawn from the previous 10 chapters.

English 11:  The students turned in their Hamlet essays, and completed their grammar work covering Principal Parts of Verbs (4.1) and Verb Tenses (4.2.)  Students that did not finish their grammar worksheet in class need to do so for homework.

English 10:  The students turned in their Huck Finn essay.  Afterwards, we reviewed for the students’ grammar ch.3 test, which the students completed afterwards.

January 14, 2014

English 11:  The students were assigned to have two students edit their Hamlet essay rough drafts, and make the needed revisions.  All final drafts are due tomorrow.

English 10:  The students were assigned to have two students edit their Huck Finn essay rough drafts, and make the needed revisions.  All final drafts are due tomorrow.

***  Students that do not have access to a printer may e-mail me their final drafts, or place their drafts in my high school inbox folder. ***

January 13, 2014

English 11:  The students took their second and final drama vocabulary quiz.  Afterwards, the students finished reading Hamlet, and completed their scene summary and story review questions.

English 10:  The students completed their grammar work covering Sentence Fragments and Run-Ons (3.5.)  Afterwards, the students read chapter 30 and 31 of Huck Finn and completed their chapter notes.

January 10, 2014

English 11:  The students read Act 5; Scene 1 of Hamlet, and completed their scene summary and story review questions.  The students also received their Hamlet Essay Project, which is due next Tuesday (1/14/14.)

English 10:  The students read chapter 29 of Huck Finn, and finished their story review questions.  The students also received their Huck Finn Essay Project, which is due next Tuesday (1/14/14.)

 

***  EXTRA CREDIT OPPURTUNITY IS DUE NEXT MONDAY (1/13/13.)  English 11 students must complete their extra credit on Hamlet, and English 10 students must complete extra credit on Huck Finn.  ***
