English 11:  The students completed their second Drama Vocabulary Quiz, and reviewed the grammar work from yesterday (Verb Tenses.)  The students were given their Hamlet Essay Project that is due January 7, 2013.  We finished reading Hamlet Act 4, and the students turned in their notes and question support sheet.

English 9:  The students finished and reviewed the grammar work from yesterday (Adjective and Adverb Clauses.)  The students were also given their Character Comparison Essay assignment that is due January 7, 2013.  The students will have the full hour to work on their essay tomorrow.

English 11:  The students completed their grammar work covering Verb Tenses, and were assigned homework to complete their Verb Tenses worksheet.

English 9:  The students completed their grammar work covering Adjective and Adverb Clauses, and were assigned homework to complete their Adjective and Adverb Clauses worksheet.

English 11:  The students read Hamlet Act 4; Scenes 1-7, and completed their notes and question support sheet.  We will be finishing Hamlet on Thursday, have our test review, and take our test on Friday.  The students were also given their second Drama Vocabulary notesheet, which they need to review and be ready for their quiz on Thursday.

English 9:  The students completed their Grammar chapter 3 test, and also completed their grammar work covering Kinds of Clauses.

December 17, 2012

English 11:  The students continued watching Franco Zeffirelli’s film adaptation of Hamlet. 

English 9:  The students read an excerpt from Douglas Brinkley’s biography Rosa Parks, and Rita Dove’s poem Rosa.  The students completed their notes and post-reading questions.  We will complete our grammar test review tomorrow before taking the chapter three test.

December 13, 2012

English 11:  The students read Hamlet Act 3; Scene 1, and began Scene 2.  The students were assigned to complete their scene notes, and complete all applicable questions for the two scenes on their question support worksheet (front/back.)

English 9:  The students finished and reviewed their grammar work covering Placement of Phrases, and also completed their grammar worksheet.  The students were also given a vocabulary worksheet for the Rosa Parks biography excerpt written by Douglas Brinkley.  Students that did not finish the vocabulary worksheet in class need to do so for homework.

English 11:  The students completed their grammar work covering Principal Parts of Verbs, and were assigned a question support worksheet (front/back) to complete for homework.

English 9:  The students took their “Blind to Failure” test, and began working on their grammar covering Placement of Phrases.  We will finish and review the grammar tomorrow.

English 11:  The students finished reading Hamlet Act 2; Scene 2.  We discussed what their notes should include, and also finished the question support sheet.

English 9:  The students completed their test review on “Blind to Failure,” and also completed their D.E.A.R. Project Plan Free-write.  The D.E.A.R. Project is due January 7th, so the students need to begin working on their project as soon as possible.

English 11:  The students continued reading Hamlet Act 2; Scene 2.  We will finish it tomorrow, and turn in our notes and question support sheet.

English 9:  The students completed their grammar crossword puzzle that tested their knowledge on the three chapters we’ve covered.

English 11:  The students completed their grammar test covering chapter 3.  We continued reading Hamlet Act 2; Scene 2, and will finish it on Monday.

English 9:  The students completed their Literary Devices Quiz, and began working on their “Blind to Failure” illustration and paragraph summary.  Students that did not finish their work in class need to do so for homework.
